Those who have experience abuse in any form need to reclaim their power. We don’t have to be victims. A victim is defined as a person who suffers from a destructive or injurious action or agency: a person who is deceived or cheated, as by his or her own emotions or ignorance, by the dishonesty of others, or by some impersonal agency. In the audio book “I Can Do It – The Power of Thoughts and Affirmations” Louise Hay states, “You don’t want to choose to feel like a victim that just gives your power away.” I have lived as a victim most of my life which has been draining.
Through counseling I have discovered that I am a survivor which is a person who continues to function or prosper in spite of opposition, hardship, or setbacks. This understanding has helped me start to heal, but it still doesn’t seem to fit or feel true.
I want to give myself and others who have experienced abuse the power back. Being silent keeps us stuck as a victim. Sticking up for ourselves and seeking help makes us survivors. Speaking up, speaking about abuse and helping others makes us WARRIORS! A warrior is a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics. We are abuse warriors. The more abuse warriors there are on the planet them quicker we can change the grip abusers have on us and the world.
I believe it is time to break the patterns of abuse that exist in the world. It is time to release the control abuse individuals and families. I believe we can forgive ourselves and others for the abuse in our lives. Forgiveness helps heal the need for anger, fear and even revenge. Forgiveness does not mean your accept or condone the actions of others. It means letting go and releasing. I enjoy the Healing Affirmations by Bo Westcott on YouTube.
Please join me in being a WARRIOR and reclaim your POWER!
Remember everyone has his or her own journey. Our experience may be similar but they are each unique. Even though many people could have been at the same event each person experiences and remembers those events through our own eyes and will recall the event differently. My blogs will be from my perspective of my life. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. I am not a Doctor, Counselor or Therapist. I believe it is important to work with Doctors, Counselors and Therapist along with Essential Oils, Energy Healing and spirituality to find health, healing and balance.
Thank you my warrior friend for your strength and courage!!!
