Recently there are several quotes that have I am continuing to ponder. I know their messages are truly inspired and ones I needed to hear. Some I know their sources and other I don’t, but none the less. I wanted to share them in hopes that I will have more insight as I do. These quotes and messages may be random and may not flow but each message is inspiring to me.
I often find myself stopped by fear of failure, judgement, pain, and/or disappointing others. As I have heard these quotes I am finding those reoccurring themes. While shopping a Michael’s I came across some Leather Cuff’s with interchangeable metal plates with several of the of quotes.
“Why fit in when you are born to stand out?” ~ Dr. Seuss
“What if I fall? Oh, but my Darling…. what if you fly?” – Positively Glamorous
Wendy Watson Nelson said, “You are not meant to fulfill your neighbors creation.” We often see the work that others are doing, compare our work or lives to theirs and then try to duplicate what they are doing only to beat ourselves up for it not looking as good (if not better then) the original creator. I have spent a lot of time trying to replicate what others have done without success or filling fulfilled.
As I read this one I couldn’t help but thinking of “The Little Engine that Could”, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.” But changing it up to knowing, “I KNOW I CAN, I KNOW I CAN, I KNOW I CAN!!!!” It is going back to thoughts becoming things. If we think and know we can, we will take the step to move us forward in our goals and intentions.
We often want to be in control of every aspect of our life instead of trusting that God, the Universe or our higher power to take the wheel. It is fear of the unknown that is what stops me from having faith in the divine intervention. As we choose to let go of control miracles will show up.
“Everyday we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.” ~Gautama Buddha (CA. 563-483 BC)
I am reminded everyday to start fresh. Leave yesterday behind you and choose to make the day great. Each day is a new opportunity for growth. Wake up each morning and declare what the day will be. “Today will be great!”, “Today is an awesome day!”, “I am finding joy in the journey!”, or whatever mantra supports your journey.
May I end with a quote of my own: “Healing is a daily practice not a destination!” Changing our thoughts, patterns, and the way we react to life is also a daily practice. Love yourself, be patient with yourself and miracles will come. I am writing this as a reminder for myself with the hope that it will inspire others along the way.
