Today JJ sent me a text that stated “You Are Loved”. Then he proceeded to ask me if I knew I was loved without having to do anything. He then asked each of our children the same thing.
We had powerful conversation as a family about love. About understanding love and that true love is unconditional.
JJ pointed out that God loves us unconditionally. He shared how as we observe nature and the beauty around us we can see God’s love for us.
The world tries to teach us that we need to look and act certain ways, or have or wear certain things to be accepted, loved, wanted. That is not true!
YOU ARE LOVED! YOU ARE WANTED! YOU ARE ENOUGH!
I know there will be times you feel alone, and lost. I know there will be trials, pain, and heartache. But that doesn’t diminish who you are and that you are loved.
I know our family is far from perfect, but we don’t give up on each other. We are a very open family when it comes to our emotions. We recognize that we don’t always see eye to eye. We fight and we forgive. We understand that we each feel & express love in different ways.
I am grateful JJ started the conversation this morning. I am grateful he can see beyond the dysfunction I live with from my abuse, depression, and anxiety. I am grateful he uses opportunities to teach and reinforce principals that will continue to strengthen us individually and as a family.
YOU ARE LOVED! YOU ARE WANTED! YOU ARE ENOUGH!
